The Queen's 90th Birthday

Along with the rest of the country we celebrated the Queen's 90th Birthday in style!

Throughout the week the children carried out various activities which enabled them to learn more about our reigning monarch. For example, some children explored the Queen's family tree and a timeline of major events throughout her life.

There were lots of Art and DT activities going on throughout the week. This included a wonderful ceramics workshop where the children got to decorate a plate with the Queen's official stamp. Each class also created a portrait of the Queen at a specific time in her life, they used famous artists as inspiration.

To conclude our celebrations we had our very own party at the end of the week; each class shared their amazing work in our 'Royal Variety Show' and the kitchen prepared a traditional British lunch of fish and chips. The whole school ate outside and enjoyed some party games after.
