The Lewisham Live Dance Festival creates unique opportunities for children & young people to showcase and develop their talents in the performing arts. Young people are given the chance to create brand new work, develop new skills and perform in some of the most prestigious arts establishments in the borough.

LEWISHAM LIVE DANCE FESTIVAL 2023

Tuesday 7th March 2023

Last night, Downderry's team of dancers produced a spectacular performance at the Broadway Theatre. After many weeks of rehearsals, our team had their moment performing on the big stage in front of hundreds of people. And they were brilliant! During the performance, the crowd were on their feet; after the performance, the crowd gave rapturous applause. Every single performer in our team should feel very proud of themselves. Downderry is very proud of you.

On Tuesday 3rd March, many of our talented year 6 dancers performed at the Broadway Theatre in Catford.

Preparing for Lewisham Live 2020

"The dance we have rehearsed makes me feel happy because I can express myself," said Amira.

"The dance makes me feel good because if you can't do a move, your friends help," said Mika.

"I'm really excited! But I'm really nervous!" Said Shaniya.

"I'm very nervous but really excited. I'm scared that I'll do something wrong or fall over during the performance. I've never performed in front of so many people and I don't know how it feels," said Kaja.

"I am very nervous and excited to be going on stage," said Nia.

"I like the dance a lot because we incorporated our own moves and made a 'sick' dance," said Nicole.

"I'm nervous but super excited, and I'm truly grateful to be dancing with the other people in the group," said Starr.
