We have links with two international schools.

Article 28 & Article 29 of the UN Convention on the rights of the child apply to the “International School Link” section of the website.

Article 28 states that “every child has the right to an education”.  As part of this, children have the right to learn about different cultures, such as French culture and South African culture.

Article 29 says that “Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for…other cultures.”  Our international school link encourages Downderry pupils to respect other cultures & to understand more about their own.
