Pupil Voice

Head Pupils 2020-21

Hello pupils of Downderry,

My name is Selin. Thank you for electing me as your Head Girl. My goal this year is to keep our reputation as an outstanding school and to make sure every pupil is happy at Downderry.

My name is Wisdom. Thank you for electing me as your Head Boy. My ambition this year is to lead us through this difficult time that we’re going through. I want to make Downderry the best school in Lewisham.

Once again, thank you for electing us, and remember, if you believe, you will achieve because trying your best equals success!

The Big Ask

The new Children's Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, recently launched The Big Ask - the largest ever consultation with children aged 4 to 17 in England.

It aims to find out children's worries and hopes about the future, so that we can put children at the heart of our country's recovery from the coronavirus outbreak.

The results from this survey will help the Children's Commissioner identify the barriers preventing children from reaching their potential, put forward solutions and set ambitious goals for the country to achieve.

This survey will only take you 5-10 minutes.

Choose your age group to get started!

If you are aged 18+ and are a care leaver, parent, or you work with children please complete our adult survey to share your views.

School improvements

School council organised a competition to design some magnificent mosaics. The mosaics, pictured below, adorns the walls of the Dining Hall and school office.

The impact of the school council can also be seen by the installation of additional playground apparatus to the key stage 2 playground.
