  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 11 Oct 2019

Thank you to all the Children, Parents and Carers who supported our Harvest Festival by donating food. We had a brilliant time in our sharing assembly on Wednesday. We were lucky enough to have Father Stuart there while the whole school sang songs and listened to some wonderful poems written by Year 5 and 2.

We have donated lots of food for the local community, so a HUGE thank you once again for all your generous donations!

  • Silver Eco-Schools

    Fri 05 Jul 2019

Thanks to the huge focus on Global Awareness this term, Downderry has been awarded Silver Eco-Schools status! We would like to thank you for your support in helping us achieve this award, by supporting projects such as our bottle cap collection and Global Awareness Week.

As you can see, the bottle caps have been put to good use with our first of 3 pieces of art work finished and hanging in early years. I’m sure you’ll agree it looks seaaaariffic! Watch this space for the next one.

We look forward to continuing our Global Citizenship campaign next year!

  • Outdoor Classroom Day and London History Day

    Fri 24 May 2019

This week we combined Outdoor Classroom Day with London History Day by encouraging children to get outdoors in the local environment. The theme for London History Day this year is ‘Celebration and Local Culture'. Lessons took place outside of the school, in and around Downham, learning about the wonderful area in which we live.

Examples of the children’s learning along with a film looking at what school was like at Downderry in the 1950s can be found in the Curriculum section of our website.
