  • Christmas Fair

    A huge “Thank You” to the PTA for organising a fantastically festive Christmas Fair and thank you to all parents, carers and friends who came along and those who made donations. We raised £432.80! This will be going towards a variety of projects within the school to support the children's experiences and learning!

  • Swimming

    Fri 16 Dec 2016

    Swimming will resume the first week back after the Christmas break with some minor changes to the timetable. Beech class will now swim on Wednesday and Ash class will swim on Thursday. All sessions will be in the school pool with the exception of Year 5, who will swim at Downham Leisure Centre.

    This week Downderry collaborated with Bonus Pastor to produced some fantastic artwork. Some of the best artists in both schools used styles based on famous artists such as George Seurat and Salvador Dali to create their own image to place on display around our school.
  • Choir

    Fri 09 Dec 2016

    Downderry Choir sang and danced their hearts out on Saturday at Intu Bromley, to raise money for the children’s charity Demelza. Everyone loved them with their hats made by Mrs McCarthy.

     

    On Wednesday they performed at the Bellingham Golden Oldies Christmas gathering. The Golden Oldies said they were “amazing”. 

  • Speak out. Stay safe.

    The NSPCC visited our school and delivered their Speak out. Stay safe. Assembly to share information with your child about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries.

  • Basketball

    Downderry were invited to the annual mixed basketball team competition at Bonus Pastor School. The team won every game and took first place overall. Well done to you all, great teamwork and tenacity paid off!

  • Rights Respecting School

    The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) encourages schools to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of its ethos and curriculum. Downderry has been awarded a certificate of Recognition of Commitment.

  • Poppy Appeal

    Thanks to everyone who bought a poppy for Remembrance Day. Downderry raised a staggering £717.87 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to fund welfare work for our Armed Forces families.

  • Santa’s Grotto
