YEAR 4 Parents - Important
Sat 19 Dec 2020Advice for Year 4 Children to Self-Isolate for 10 Days from 19th December, during the Christmas holidays.
We have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the year 4 bubble.
In line with the national guidance we recommend that children in year 4 stay at home and self-isolate for 10 days. This date means that year 4 children will need to isolate over Christmas Day. Whilst I am sure this is upsetting to you and your family, we are asking you to do this to reduce the further spread of COVID 19 to others in the community.
A letter has been sent to all parents of year 4 children and can be viewed here...
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ONLY AFFECTS CHILDREN IN YEAR 4.

Parent Questionnaire Feedback
Fri 27 Nov 2020Parent Questionnaire Feedback.
We would like to thank you for your feedback following the recent Parent/ Carer questionnaires which was overwhelmingly positive. A full copy of the results is available at: www.downderryprimaryschool.com/questionnaires/
Key headlines include:
100% strongly agreed that their child was happy at school. All parents agreed that their child was safe at school, 93% strongly agreeing. You felt that the school dealt with any incidents of bullying effectively, that we kept you well aware of what your child is learning during the year and how well they are doing. 100% parents would recommend the school to another parent.
During an unprecedented year, taking part in clubs and activities is an area to develop, and we all look forward to reopening these once Covid- restrictive measures are lifted.

Anti-Bullying week
Fri 20 Nov 2020This week, children have been uniting against bullying. All children took part in an anti-bullying workshop, where they discussed how to be a good friend and how to recognise bullying.
Within their PSHE lessons, pupils have produced their own unique hand print which will go towards a display within the school demonstrating how we can all come together in our Downderry community.
