Poppy Appeal
Fri 01 Dec 2017Thanks to everyone who bought a poppy for Remembrance Day. Downderry raised a staggering £642.31 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to fund welfare work for our Armed Forces families. The total raised by all schools in the BR1/BR2 area was £12,701.52.
A big thank you to Mollie and Chloe for their tremendous help.

Switch Off Day
Fri 24 Nov 2017This week Downderry’s Eco-Warriors have been making sure teachers and pupils are “switching off” in order to avoid wasting energy!
Today, we held a “No Electricity Day” which meant No computers, No interactive whiteboards and No iPads! It was a very successful day, helping the environment and saving some money on our electricity bill.

Children in Need
Fri 24 Nov 2017Thank you to everyone who took part in our “Spotacular” day last Friday and came to school dressed in something spotty. We have raised £246.53 for Children in Need. Well done!

Christmas fair
Fri 24 Nov 2017The Christmas fair will be held on Friday 8th December. We are offering 4 stall places. If you would like to set up your own stall at the fair please come to the office and fill in a form. Stalls will cost £15.

Early Years Learn and Play
Mon 20 Nov 2017The Early Years “Spotacular” Learn & Play session was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents/carers who came along and joined in with all of our fun activities! The children had a great time and we hope you did too!

Anti-Bullying Week
Fri 17 Nov 2017Local police officer Steve Eaton visited Downderry this week to deliver safety talks to pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2 as part of Anti-Bullying Week. The children really enjoyed his visit and participated in group discussions.
