Spring Concert
Fri 23 Mar 2018Thank you to all parents, carers and friends who attended our Spring Concert, we hope you enjoyed the show. The children worked extremely hard rehearsing for the performances!
The money raised from ticket sales will go to support our sponsored child at Emyezweni School in South Africa. -
STEM week
Fri 16 Mar 2018This week the children have been “Exploring” as part of STEM week. Children have been researching and building vehicles that can explore the polar regions, the deepest ocean and even space!
On Monday we had a visit from Professor Nitrate and his ‘explosive’ experiments!

Chartwells Parent Survey & Prize Draw

Bird box Camera

The bird box is situated in the school garden and we have already had Blue tits having a look inside and roosting overnight.

Rights Respecting School: Silver Award
Fri 09 Feb 2018Downderry had a visit from Unicef’s Rights Respecting Schools Assessors last week and we have been awarded the Silver: Rights Aware Award!
The Assessor said of Downderry; “Pupil empowerment is a strength of the school. Children know they are listened to and that their views are respected and valued and have made a difference.”
We are very proud of all our Children, Parents, Governors and Staff for helping to achieve this award. Well done!

Mudchute Farm
Mon 05 Feb 2018Reception had a fantastic time at Mudchute farm where they got to find out about lots of different farm animals. They were very lucky to be able to stroke and feed some of the animals, they especially enjoyed feeding the donkey! Did you know that pigs are actually the cleanest animals on the farm?
