2023 was yet another successful year for pupils and staff at Downderry Primary School, including some of the highest results we have ever achieved. Here are the results for children at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (aged 5), Key Stage 1 (aged 7) and Key Stage 2 (aged 11), as well as the phonics screening check data for Key Stage 1, and the Multiplication Tables Check data for Year 4 (aged 9). Many congratulations to everyone involved!

From Strength to Strength

Downderry Primary School has maintained and built upon high standards in the quality of our teaching and learning, and this has been reflected, once again, in our fantastic results. Children are achieving well above the national averages in the majority of areas.

2023 will be the final year that children in Key Stage 1 will sit SATs exams. Our KS1 assessments were moderated externally by the Local Authority this year, which ensures that the high standards we have for our pupils are being accurately applied.

The impact of our high expectations is that children leaving our school at the end of Year 6 are, better than ever, well-prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.

We are very proud of all of our Year 6 leavers and we would like to thank all of the children, parents, staff and governors for their hard work, helping make our school the successful place that it is!
